Interests: video making, CRTs and VHS, costume design, drawing, airbrush and acrylic painting, photoshop, pixel art, low-poly 3d modeling, 80's synth, percussion, chiptunes, videogame making, programming, embedded systems, PCB design, robotics, AI, bioinformatics, human genetics, behavioral psychology, politics (unfortunately), European and American history, chess, and mathematics (specifically discrete math, probability, and algorithms)

Philosophy:

I enjoy developing new media on old tech and I also like preserving technology from 1980's and 1990's -- mainly because I think it is easier to fully understand and reproduce compared to modern tech. In addition to this, I admire the aesthetics from that time and I have a lot of nostalgia for the 90's. Also, I am not a big fan of the kind of "throwaway" culture that is and has been the norm for quite some time now, which perhaps is a bit ironic considering that 80's pop culture is often regarded as the quintessential icon for hyper consumerism. That said, I think it is important to explore new domains -- be it genetic, ethnic, cultural, or technological -- it's just that we should still preserve the old ones; that said, some doors should never be opened and some things should not be preserved. Choosing what to keep and what to toss seems to be a contentious problem and can be often seen as the ultimate source of conflict between two different parties that are at odds with each other.
