hi! It's pronounced Diane in case you were wondering. At any given point I'm doing pick-at-least-two from data architecture, application development, and whatever it is we're collectively calling the wheels-hit-the-ground bit of devops these days. I'm presently a site reliability engineer with Understory Weather, a meteorological data analytics startup. I mostly work in JavaScript, Java, and SQL with a side of bash scripting, Python, and Things Having To Do With Containers And Config Management.
In my spare time I maintain Massive.js, a data mapper for Node.js and PostgreSQL, among other miscellaneous projects. Sometimes I talk or volunteer at workshops. The most important programming book I've ever read is Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari's Anti-Oedipus, albeit possibly only because 1000 Plateaus is a doorstopper and I haven't had the time to work through the whole thing.
Outside software and semiotics, my interests include horror fiction & movies, surrealism, the fin de siècle Decadent movement, and related subjects.
