I have been playing with various digital technologies since getting started with bread-boarding TTL and writing machine code for a COSMAC ELF derivative around 1975. I wrote a rudimentary operating system for a 68000-based EMS single-board computer, and then moved into UNIX while working for Sun, then created an ISP, and now teach at the local college. I have done just about everything an ordinary person can do with computers at one time or another. I still find it interesting, although it saddens me that the business imperatives from the likes of Intel and Microsoft have sort of won.
