Started writing software at the age of 8 on the BBC Micro. That got me hooked.

Since have completed a PhD and stayed as a research fellow at the University of Southampton for many years before moving into a commercial arena.

Worked on machine-learning for chat bots, a couple of years before they were in vogue, and have since moved on to working in traffic control.

I am an evangelistic testing proponent for production code and like working in Java, Kotlin, Javascript and Typescript.

I also make music and love to play tradition Irish folk music on a variety of instruments.
