I have a Masters degree in Pure and Applied Mathematics, and over 20 years experience as a Developer (not counting my childhood years of programming on ZX Spectrums and Amigas!)

First cut my teeth on C/C++ before picking up SQL, C#, Python, and JavaScript. These form my core skillset, but I have learned and used plenty of others along the way (FORTRAN, COM, Java, OpenGL/CL, OpenROAD, VB) and a whole bunch of technologies (MFC, ASP.Net, XML, JSON, HTML, Nunit/MSTest, Python unittest, Python mock, Jasmine, CSS, GIS systems, MVC, Entity Framework).

I love solving puzzles, so writing code is a perfect career for me because every task feels like a new puzzle to conquer.

I spend a lot of my spare time writing code or learning what's new in the field.

With whatever time I have left over, I'm in my gym lifting large pieces of metal, or doing cardio like running or cycling. But let's be honest, I do it because I like eating pizza too much!
