I am a highly experienced software specialist with a BSc in computer science with a special focus on distributed systems. Also, I will be defending my MSc thesis on highly parallel economic financial simulations this fall. I have considerable knowledge in almost any aspect of programming including databases, backend, front-end, integration, message buses and workflows. I have more 15 years of professional development experience and have worked in industries including energy, finance, insurance, medical, media, and automotive both remote and as a full-time employee. I have taught courses on security, python, web programming, front-end programming, programming language theory, networking and distributed systems at Reykjavik University on and off since 2007 and I have also been an examiner for B.Sc. projects in computer science for many years. During my time as a developer I have at least 2 years of experience with the following: C#, Python, Ruby, Postgres, AWS, Azure, Salesforce, RESTful, Javascript, Java, Erlang/Elixir, Sql Server, WebMethods. I also have experience as a CIO of a startup company, project manager using Scrum/Kanban and as a tech lead.
