I'm a doctor specialized in hospital hygiene and in my day job I work as infection control doctor and hospital epidemiologist in a big hospital. I'm also a researcher in the field of infection prevention and surveilance of nosocomial infections.

I've always been obsessed with computers, and started assembling the first ones in the 486/Pentium aera (actually I started with 286 as they already were available at no cost at that time).

I started software development with HTML/Perl-CGI in the first days of the WWW (last days of mailboxes) and sice then have used almost any programming language that seemed to fit for the task I wanted to complete (Perl, Javascript, Visual Basic/VBA, C, C#). I also do a lot of database work as a hobby and in my day job and I prefer solving data related problems in PostgreSQL or SQL Server.

Next to all this I've got a family that keeps me happy.
