I have a PhD in theoretical population genetics from the University of British Columbia and postdoctoral experience in microbial molecular genetics and biochemistry and genetic engineering. I've worked as a fisheries genomics scientist and a cancer researcher. More recently I've worked in the mobile and desktop video game industry, but I currently work in retail.

I'm an avid cyclist, father of three (soon to be four), and avid fan of the NFL (Go Vikings!). I'm also a social progressive, I believe in social justice, environmental stewardship, etc.
