My biggest passions are learning and plants, though I very much enjoy travel and cooking as well. There's lots of things I love to do, like ice skating, pinball, goaltimate, reading etc. Oh, and I’m permanently banned from Craigslist.

• Cracking eggs with one hand
• Collecting firewood
• Getting zinc sunscreen in my beard

My central focus in life is on happiness. For me happiness comes largely through meaning, purpose, and community. I want to do what I believe in, with the people I love and believe in.

When it comes to work I've gots lots of experience with computers. Linux server management? No problem. Seriously, I'm super good at it. Security? If you Google "how do hash algorithms work", my article will be one of the first thing that comes up, which might be a good indication of my interest. I can't tell you how much I love efficiency. And optimization? Well, my current job as Senior Javascript Developer at the leading digital optimization firm suits me well to do that. Advertising & SEO? I've been crushing that game since back when I used to run the digital department at an advertising agency in Madison. Databases? Of course. Analytics? They may be my favorite. What I'm trying to say is: I've done a lot in the past 10 years and some of those things I've been really passionate about and gotten really good at. Yes, I've done plenty of things with Wordpress, but I'm far from an expert and entirely content to keep it that way. MySQL, PostgreSQL, jQuery, nginx, responsive designs: those have been as much a part of my career as words are to a writer's.
