I started out writing applications in C, as the only english-speaking employee at a tiny software company in Japan, migrating through C++/MFC, DirectX, and .Net/C# over the next 10 years at startups and corporate environments throughout the San Francisco Bay Area... now at an e-commerce company, working mostly with Javascript, node & React.JS for the past several years. Although I took a couple intro. to CS courses at CAL (Berkeley), my degree was actually in Asian Studies, and I learned to code "in the trenches".
