Former professional photojournalist hoping to become an Android developer. They are two very different professions but both are very challenging. After 7+ years as a photojournalist, I wanted a career change that I could actually provide food and shelter for my family while actually having money left over after paying the bills. While money wasn't the driving force behind the career change, it was a factor. I became an Android enthusiast. I wanted to know how the OS worked inside and out. I taught myself Java and then the Android SDK in my spare time while I was employed at a newspaper. I've created several simple Android apps as a hobby. Eventually, I decided to go back to college full-time to get a degree in programming and development. Just graduated in August of 2012 and I'm looking for an entry-level Android developer position. I once turned a hobby(photography) into a career and I will do it again with programming.
