Allen is a software engineer and “Full Stack” developer with skills including systems administration, project management, database design and administration, architecture, coding, testing, deploying, and managing and scaling deployed apps.

He specializes in Ruby (on Rails), Perl, and other dynamic languages like PHP, and also hacks lower-level code such as C. He enjoys building web applications, though he really sinks his teeth into back-end processing, architecture, and managing large amounts of data.

Allen has been developing Unix and web apps since 1995, then discovered Ruby and Rails in 2005. He lives on the command line with his editor of choice, vim.
