I'm using Google Maps Engine Lite and placing markers on the map from a Google spreadsheet. At the moment I'm importing these manually into a layer.
Is there a way to automatically update the pins when the spreadsheet is updated?
There very little out there on this or is it because this needs to be done via the API with a coded solution?

How often is your maps data updated? The map is updated constantly–literally, every second of every day! We're constantly collecting new information about the world, whether from satellite imagery and Street View cars, or Google Maps users and local business owners, and using that information to update the map.
Type "=DATE()" into a cell and press "Enter" to display the current date. Similarly, to display the current time, use the NOW function by typing "=NOW()" to display the current date and time in a cell. With either of these functions, whenever the sheet is recalculated, the date or time is recalculated as well.
I actually found that using Google Fusion tables solved this problem so that when that was updated, so was the map.
