I'm building a bundle with webpack + babel for browser, targeting it to ES5. When I try to use it, an error Unable to set property 'wrap' of undefined or null reference
appears. It worked normally when I was building the bundle without using babel, so probably something is wrong with my config/plugins I use
webpack.config.js
module.exports = {
entry: ['./index.js'],

}
}
}]
},
resolve: {
modules: ['./node_modules']

Thank you in advance for any help :)
Obviously this is a pretty dated question but the problem still persists.
I have no clue why, but the bug originates from the plugin "@babel/plugin-transform-runtime"
To fix the problem, you have to turn helpers off:
[
'@babel/plugin-transform-runtime',
{
helpers: false,
regenerator: true
}
]
It uses a bit more space to not have the helpers on, but until I can find a working solution (or get a bug report up) this is by far the best way to solve the problem. The other way is to inline polyfills and runtime generator:
import "regenerator-runtime/runtime"; // this is equivalent to @babel/plugin-transform-runtime
import "core-js/stable"; // if polyfills are also needed
You would put these at the entry of your app/library, but it uses WAAY more memory, whereas dropping helpers for me only added a few kB.
