I can install the watch app on my iPhone
using Xcode fine. But, I get the following error when I (or my beta testers) try to install the watch app using TestFlight.
I found this message on the console. The provisioning profiles are handled by Xcode automatically. Previous build of this app had no problem with the Watch app installation via TestFlight, but now even previous builds in TestFlight refuse to install the watch app.
Install TestFlight on the iOS device that you'll use for testing. Open your email invitation or tap the public link on your iOS device. Tap View in TestFlight or Start Testing. If you're testing an app that's for Apple Watch only, tap Install or Update from the Apps list.
While a poor internet connection is the main reason why apps often fail to install on Apple Watch, there are other bottlenecks that you need to keep in mind. Incompatibility, cluttered storage, and miscellaneous software glitches are also responsible for the app installation issue on your watchOS issue.
Go to Settings/General & turn off Automatic App Install. Now go back to “My Watch” and scroll to the bottom to see “Available Apps”. Any apps you see that are trying to install are the culprits causing the notifications! Delete those apps from your phone, and if necessary reinstall them with your current Apple ID.
Tap View in TestFlight or Start Testing. If you are testing an app that’s for Apple Watch only, tap Install or Update from the Apps list. If the app is an iOS app that includes an Apple Watch app, install the iOS app first, then from the App Details page under the Information section, you will see a Watch section.

Getting Started. To test beta versions of apps using TestFlight, you’ll need to accept an email or public link invitation from the developer and have a device that you can use to test. Members of the developer’s team in App Store Connect can be added and will have access to all builds of the app.
The problem was with TestFlight and Apple has fixed the problem. I can confirm that the watch app installs using TestFlight now. I did not change anything on my side.
