If the target environment supports it, gdb can allow you to “rewind” the program by running it backward. A target environment that supports reverse execution should be able to “undo” the changes in machine state that have taken place as the program was executing normally.
Breakpoints are set with the break command (abbreviated b ). The debugger convenience variable `$bpnum' records the number of the breakpoint you've set most recently; see section Convenience variables, for a discussion of what you can do with convenience variables.
You can use the finish command.
finish: Continue running until just after function in the selected stack frame returns. Print the returned value (if any). This command can be abbreviated asfin.
