I am trying to write an application using Spring 3.1.2-Release
. App server is Tomcat 7
.
When I start the server I get this error :
SEVERE: Exception starting filter springSecurityFilterChain org.springframework.beans.factory.NoSuchBeanDefinitionException: No
bean named 'springSecurityFilterChain' is defined at org.springframework.beans.factory.support.DefaultListableBeanFactory.getBeanDefinition(DefaultListableBeanFactory.java:553) at org.springframework.beans.factory.support.AbstractBeanFactory.getMergedLocalBeanDefinition(AbstractBeanFactory.java:1095) at org.springframework.beans.factory.support.AbstractBeanFactory.doGetBean(AbstractBeanFactory.java:277) at org.springframework.beans.factory.support.AbstractBeanFactory.getBean(AbstractBeanFactory.java:197) at org.springframework.context.support.AbstractApplicationContext.getBean(AbstractApplicationContext.java:1102)

Any ideas?
You are missing security-config.xml entry in web.xml
You may need something like this:
<param-value>/WEB-INF/spring/security-config.xml</param-value>
after the line
<param-value>/WEB-INF/spring/root-context.xml</param-value>
in web.xml
