After updating to Android Studio 4 from AS 3.5, as a Mac user I found out none of the default shortcuts work properly, i.e cmd+shift+F
does not open search everywhere dialog
anymore?
Make sure you're using the latest version of the app. If the keyboard shortcut uses a function key, you may also need to press and hold the Fn key or the Globe key on the keyboard to perform the shortcut (depending on your Mac model, if you're using a Magic Keyboard and how you set an option in Keyboard preferences).
On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Keyboard , then click Shortcuts. In the list on the left, select a category, such as Mission Control or Spotlight. In the list on the right, select the checkbox next to the shortcut that you want to change.
Run the Keyboard Troubleshooter Click Start, then head to Settings > System > Update & Security. Click Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters. Under Find and fix other problems, select Keyboard. Select Run the troubleshooter to start the scan.
Command-M: Minimize the front window to the Dock. To minimize all windows of the front app, press Option-Command-M. Command-O: Open the selected item, or open a dialog to select a file to open. Command-P: Print the current document.
To fix : in Android studio, from top menu tap on Android studio
then Preferences...
and type keymap
then in the drop-down on the right screen select Mac
and apply
.
all sorted now, all the shortcuts are aligned with the Mac keyboard.
