I'm trying to add Ruby SDK to RubyMine which is installed at /snap/bin/ruby
however I get the following message.
Error configuring SDK: Could not get RubyGems environment for ruby-2.6.3-p62: ver.2.6.3p0 (/snap/bin/ruby).
Please make sure that /snap/bin/ruby is a valid home path for this SDK type.
So, let’s get started. In order to run Ruby programs on RubyMine, you must have Ruby programming language installed on your machine. On Ubuntu, you can install Ruby programming language with the following command: Now, press y and then press <Enter> to continue. Ruby should be installed.
Select Ruby Interpreter. To configure Ruby SDK for the current project, follow these steps: Invoke the Settings/Preferences dialog (Ctrl+Alt+S) and go to the Ruby SDK and Gems page. (Optional) If RubyMine has multiple projects opened, select the required one to define a Ruby interpreter.
On Ubuntu, you can install Ruby programming language with the following command: Now, press y and then press <Enter> to continue. Ruby should be installed. On Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and later, RubyMine is available as a SNAP package.
If you are using Ruby installed in an isolated environment (Docker, Vagrant, WSL, and so on), RubyMine allows you to configure it as a remote interpreter. To learn about supported Ruby versions, see Supported technology versions. Open the Settings/Preferences dialog Ctrl+Alt+S. In the Ruby SDK and Gems page, click the button and select Interpreter:
Currently, RubyMine cannot add Ruby installed using snap: RUBY-23121. As an alternative, you can install Ruby with apt or by using the version manager.
