Rails or Django? (or something else?)
These are two web frameworks that are becoming (or have been in many circles) popular. I was wondering what are the advantages and disadvantages of each? Feel free to comment on Ruby and Python pros and cons also.
Two disadvantages I am speculative about for RoR is the scalability, since it still seems to be a disputable topic, and how turbulent the 'in' libraries are?
Ruby's and Ruby on Rails' Overall Popularity Although way behind main contenders, such as PHP or Python, Ruby still makes the cut for the 20 most popular programming languages list in 2022. The 2022 edition of Stack Overflow Annual Developer Survey also places RoR in a similar spot.
Ruby on Rails is still relevant in 2022 and will stay relevant for a few years to come. It is a simple and powerful platform to build rapid prototypes, MVP, and any kind of web application/service. It reduces the development time and helps you hit the market in a really short time.
Django is still popular and favorite Django is a fast, secure, and flexible Python framework that works hand-in-hand with data science and data analytics. According to GitHub, Django is the 2nd most starred Server Side framework after Laravel.
After its grand entrance, Rails continued to be at the forefront of chosen frameworks, reaching Ruby on Rails high usage in 2006. Although popularity has since declined, demand remains stable today.
