I'm not an expert in regular expressions and today in my project I face the need to split long string in several lines in order to check if the string text fits the page height.
I need a C# regular expression to split long strings in several lines by "\n", "\r\n" and keeping 150 characters by line maximum. If the character 150 is in the middle of an word, the entire word should be move to the next line.
Can any one help me?

You can have a string split across multiple lines by enclosing it in triple quotes. Alternatively, brackets can also be used to spread a string into different lines. Moreover, backslash works as a line continuation character in Python. You can use it to join text on separate lines and create a multiline string.
split(String regex) method splits this string around matches of the given regular expression. This method works in the same way as invoking the method i.e split(String regex, int limit) with the given expression and a limit argument of zero. Therefore, trailing empty strings are not included in the resulting array.
Multiline option, or the m inline option, enables the regular expression engine to handle an input string that consists of multiple lines. It changes the interpretation of the ^ and $ language elements so that they match the beginning and end of a line, instead of the beginning and end of the input string.
Regex will work faster in execution, however Regex's compile time and setup time will be more in instance creation. But if you keep your regex object ready in the beginning, reusing same regex to do split will be faster. String.
It's actually a quite simple problem. Look for any characters up to 150, followed by a space. Since Regex is greedy by nature it will do exactly what you want it to. Replace it by the Match plus a newline:
.{0,150}(\s+|$)
Replace with
$0\r\n
