A and B are talking on the phone. During the call, A presses a button that pulls audio from a resource and plays it over the phone call to B.
Is this possible using the Android framework? The goal is for the person on the other end of the call to hear the audio.
If it's not possible, is it a hardware limitation or a limit of the Android framework?
Turn on the hands free function of your phone. Create a media player, set the media source, set the volume to 1.0f (highest) and call player. start() . If the microphone and speakers on the phone are of reasonable quality, the other party to the call will hear the music.
A microchip in the phone modulates (or varies) a radio wave using the electrical signal. The radio wave travels through the air to a nearby cell tower; the tower sends your voice to the person you are calling and the process is reversed so that the person on the other end can hear your voice.
You can listen to someone's phone calls when they make a call. The best way to do it is to use a spy app like uMobix or FlexiSpy to help you listen to the phone during calls. Some can even help you with call recording, if you want to.
Playing music or any other audio while on a phone call is easy: While on an active phone call, tap the Home button to get to the home screen. Open the Music app, find any song or podcast, and press play. Return to the phone call screen by tapping the green titlebar.

Note: You can play back the audio data only to the standard output device. Currently, that is the mobile device speaker or a Bluetooth headset. You cannot play sound files in the conversation audio during a call.
