I have not been any usual documentation at all. I can't find anything on Elasticsearch.
I have seen a few blog articles and that's about it.
The first message "kibana started" just means it was started, but apparently failed and now is not running. You probably need to look in /var/log/kibana. There should be a stdout and stderr file.
Check the Kibana statusedit To view the Kibana status page, use the status endpoint. For example, localhost:5601/status . For JSON-formatted server status details, use the localhost:5601/api/status API endpoint.
You can also resolve this issue by removing the versioned indices from your Kibana Cluster. The command should return the kibana indices. Next, start by enabling wildcard support by setting the action. desctructive_requires_name parameter to false for your cluster.
The Kibana 3 docs can be found here: http://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/3.0/index.html
