Quitting GDB To exit GDB, use the quit command (abbreviated q ), or type an end-of-file character (usually C-d ).
gdb is the acronym for GNU Debugger. This tool helps to debug the programs written in C, C++, Ada, Fortran, etc. The console can be opened using the gdb command on terminal.
KDbg is a graphical user interface to gdb, the GNU debugger. It provides an intuitive interface for setting breakpoints, inspecting variables, and stepping through code. KDbg requires KDE, the K Desktop Environment, but you can of course debug any program.
I really like EDB (Evan's Debugger).
It has a nice 'OllyDBG feel', which was great because I used it quite a deal when I was still working on the windows platform.
EDB (Evan's Debugger) is a QT4 based binary mode debugger with the goal of having usability on par with OllyDbg. It uses a plugin architecture, so adding new features can be done with ease. The current release is for Linux, but future releases will target more platforms.
