I wanted to have several different chrome instances on my PC.. and i had to install CHROME, CHROME CANARY, CHROMIUM versions separately, and did a good JOB !
however, does there exists built-in function for "CHROME" only, not to install other Chrome versions?
By default, the Chrome browser creates an entirely separate operating system process for every single tab or extra extension you are using. If you have several different tabs open and a variety of third party extensions installed you may notice five or more processes running simultaneously.
Open Chrome, navigate to any website, launch Chrome in split-screen mode, open the context menu, and select "move to other window." This opens a new instance of Chrome, though it should be noted you can't open any additional windows and all tabs are merged into a single window when you exit split-screen mode.
Set Up Separate Chrome Profiles Step-1: Open Google Chrome browser. Step-2: Click on your profile picture icon on the top right of the window. Step-3: Click on the cog icon next to Other profiles. Step-4: Click on the plus sign in the Add box.
You might also look at Chrome's "User Profiles" feature. It's a really neat way to separate multiple Facebook/Gmail/etc accounts. It also keeps distinct bookmarks / browse history / autocomplete / cookies / etc. Pretty much the only thing shared is the build of Chrome that you are running.
And there's a really nice profile swapping icon in the upper right corner:
Navigate to "chrome://settings" --> "Users"
Update(2015): Note, that this feature was borked up recently, so to get the good behavior now requires setting some extra flags. See http://digiwonk.wonderhowto.com/how-to/get-back-avatars-chrome-switch-user-profiles-more-easily-0159605/
