How do I run Xcode on OS X 10.6.8 / Snow Leopard? The Xcode 4 on the App Store is only compatible with 10.7 / Lion and upwards.
Any clue, any hope for goodold 10.6.8 users ?
Here's an overview of the steps to install Xcode 1 Download Xcode 2 Install the command line tool 3 Open the new version 4 Delete files More ...
But if you have an existing version of Xcode installed on your machine, you'll probably see this error: xcode-select: error: command line tools are already installed, use “Software Update” to install updates This means you'll need to go to the developer website instead. When the .dmg has finished downloaded, double click the file to open it.
all is see for snow leopard is xcode 3.2.6 and ios sdk 4.3 for snow leopard on page 3 searched everywhere else i can search. i see Xcode 4.3.2 for Lion and i click the "Looking for additional developer tools? View Downloads" and it takes me to the same 7 pages (125 results)?
While it's installing, check that your default Xcode version is the one you just downloaded: 1 Open Terminal 2 Type brew config 3 You should see “CLT” and “Xcode” versions, as well as everything else. This should reflect the version that you have just downloaded. In my case, I downloaded Xcode 11.4.1.
If you can log into the iOS Developer Portal, do that and then search for Xcode 4.2 for Snow Leopard
and you'll get Xcode 4 for 10.6.8.
Otherwise, go to Downloads for Apple Developers, search for Xcode
and then you'll find a download for Xcode 4.2 for Snow Leopard
.
If you're a paid developer, you can download it from apple's online downloads section.
If you're not, you're screwed.
