Configurations:
With the --local ( -l ) option, you would perform a local search through your installed gems. To install a gem, use gem install [gem] . Browsing installed gems is done with gem list . For more information about the gem command, see below or head to RubyGems' docs.
The easiest way to install Ruby on your Ubuntu system is through the apt package manager. At the time of writing, the version in the Ubuntu repositories is 2.5. 1 which is the latest stable version of Ruby.
After upgrading to Rails 4.2.4 on Ubuntu 14.04 using RVM I needed to do this:
sudo apt-get install libgmp-dev
or
sudo apt-get install libgmp3-dev
