In Apple's AppStore Terms & Conditions, you may find the following statement in relation to Auto-renewable In App Purchases:
"Certain paid In App Subscriptions may offer a free trial period prior to charging your Account."
How does it work? I haven't seen any option to allow such free trial period for my Auto-renewable IAPs in iTunes Connect.
On App Store Connect, go to My Apps and select the app to which you want to add an introductory price. Then, go to Features ▸ In-App Purchases and select the correct auto-renewable subscription. Then, press the + next to Subscription Prices and select Set Up Introductory Price.
Apple recently highlighted in its App Store a selection of apps that offered free trial subscriptions. For a set period of time, you could use the app, free of charge, before being charged the monthly or yearly subscription. It's a convenient way to try apps and then decide if they're worth paying for.
iPhone owners can now purchase extra content through free iPhone apps, whereas before in-app purchasing was only available in apps that cost money. Apple on Thursday sent e-mails to developers stating in-app purchases are now permitted in free apps.
