I'm making a custom *.saver application, and I would like to add my own thumbnail to show up above the name of screensaver (the ladybug pictures in the left column). How do I do that?
From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences. From the View menu, choose Desktop & Screen Saver. Click the Screen Saver tab. Available screen savers appear in the left side of the window and a preview of the selected screen saver appears on the right.
To find this go up to the top left-hand corner of your screen and click on the Apple symbol. From the drop-down menu select System Preferences, then, in the window that appears, look on the top line for Desktop & Screen Saver. Click on this and you'll be presented with a selection of different wallpapers.
By examining the default screensavers, I figured out that you need to add two files:
thumbnail.png, 58x90px
[email protected], 116x180px
When compiled by Xcode, this is automatically included in the .saver Resources folder as "thumbnail.tiff" with two subfiles.
