Simple question: how do I search all the files currently open in Eclipse? Note: I don't wanna search all the files I have in that workspace, just the ones open in tabs. Is there an easy way to do this?
The Eclipse search dialog box allows you to search for files that contain a literal or a character pattern in the entire workspace, a set of projects, a specific project or folders selects in the package explorer view. Clicking on the Search menu and selecting Search or File or Java. Clicking Ctrl + H.
Press the "Ctrl," "Shift" and "R" keys on your keyboard simultaneously. A pop-up window will open and you can type in the name of the file you wish to find. Eclipse uses intelligent matching. Once it matches the file, just press "Enter." This is the fastest way to find files of any type, including Java and PHP files.
Ctrl + Alt + G can be used to find selected text across a workspace in eclipse. Show activity on this post. Press Ctrl + H to bring up the search that includes options to search via project, directory, etc.
First if you use the right click mouse on the tabs you can choose either Close All or Close Others. Second you can press Ctrl + Shift + W to close all the opened tabs.
Closest way is selecting several resources in Navigator or Package Explorer view, then press Ctrl+H and choose 'Selected Resources' radio button. It will limit search only to selected files.
