Yes, it is possible. There are quite a few synchronization tools available:

  • @synchronized
  • NSLock
  • NSCondition
  • NSConditionLock
  • GCD semaphores
  • pthread locks
  • ...

I'd suggest reading "Threading Programming Guide" and asking something more specific.
