I've been using the default MediaWiki's built-in WikiEditor, but I found about this: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/VisualEditor:Test
I can't find where it says what do I need to do to get it running. Do I need some configuration properties on my LocalSettings.php
file?
If you want to install the VisualEditor extension on MediaWiki, follow these steps: Only use sudo if the stack was installed as root. Go to the MediaWiki extensions directory.
NOTE: You will be able to use VisualEditor to create new Wiki Pages, but not to edit them. If you want to use VisualEditor to edit them, you will need to follow the official Parsoid installation guide.
As a matter of fact, you most likely have it already – unless you installed MediaWiki years ago – as the WikiEditor extension comes shipped together with the default MediaWiki bundle since 1.18 (and above).
As with other changes made using the visual editor, you must publish the entire page in order to publish your work. The powerful MediaWiki template system lets you insert dynamic content, text from other pages, and much more. For a detailed explanation and examples, see the Templates help page.
Here are some instructions: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:VisualEditor.
You also need to install a Parsoid server. Here are instructions for that: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Parsoid#Getting_started.
