I convert an image to black&white in imagemagick with a command like this:
convert myimg.png -monochrome out3.png
I'm wondering whether its possible to achieve the same result in Java? Without using Im4Java or JMagick?
Right-click the picture that you want to change, and then click Format Picture on the shortcut menu. Click the Picture tab. Under Image control, in the Color list, click Grayscale or Black and White.
Java provides immediate access to the image pixels and color information and allows conversions and image processing.
I guess it depends on what you mean by "mono-chrome"/"black & white"...
