how to add Auth::Basic to simple Rack application

how can I add this

use Rack::Auth::Basic do |username, password|
  username == 'pippo' && password == 'pluto'
end

to this

class HelloWorld

    req = Rack::Request.new(env)

I have this simple Rack application and I need to add Auth::Basic.

You need to use Rack::Builder to compose a stack of rack applications.

Example:

# app.ru
require 'rack'

class HelloWorld
  def call(env)
    req = Rack::Request.new(env)
    case req.path_info
    when /badges/

    when /goodbye/

app = Rack::Builder.new do
  use Rack::Auth::Basic do |username, password|
