I have this screenshot someone posted of System Log but I have no idea how to reach there.
If you don't see the log message details, click the Info button in the toolbar (or use the Touch Bar), or choose View > Show Info Pane. To see fewer details, click Hide. Search for a specific log message in the current view: Click the log message, then press Command-F. See Find text in log messages and reports.
To open a system report, choose Apple menu > About This Mac, then click System Report. Tip: You can also press and hold the Option key, then choose Apple menu > System Information.
The Syslog daemon (syslog) on macOS is configured through the /etc/syslog.
“~Library/Logs” is your current Mac user account's user-specific application log folder, “/Library/Logs” is the system-wide application log folder, and “/var/log” generally contains logs for low-level system services. The search bar works to filter these log files, too.
If somebody is looking for how to access it without console.app then the files are in /var/log
