I have a Sharepoint list with a "Choice" with "Can add values manually" checked.
How do i make a manually added value in a choice column persist so that is available when adding and editing other records?
If you're using a SharePoint choice field you can set the 'Allow fill-in choices' (or 'Can add values manually' in modern) option to yes. This will give users the opportunity to manually specify a value for the choice field if the given values are not sufficient.
Go to run history and open the last run instance. Now click on the step which retrieves the entity records for my case it is “Get a Row By Id”. Copy the Entire Body field and copy to a notepad of your choice. Now there search your desired field for my case it is “leadsource”.
Sign into powerapps.com, select Solutions, and then open the solution you want. Open the table where you want to create the choice, and then on the command bar, select New > Choice. In the New column panel, enter properties for the choice column.
The Choice field allows a user to choose from a predefined list of options. In the SharePoint column settings, you can choose how the field appears on the form: Drop-down menu.
I created new list on my Office365 SharePoint site. When in classic mode, manually entered values are not available while editing/creating new list items regardless the choices are displayed in a dropdown, radio buttons or as multi select checkboxes. When switching from classic to modern SharePoint experience, manually entered values are available while editing/adding list items. Hope this helps.
