With the iPhone, Apple has a system of free codes you can send to reviewers so they can install the app for free. Is there a way to do this with paid Android apps?
Update your app access information and click Save. If your update status is "Ready to send for review," or if your Publishing overview page has a "Changes ready to send for review" section, then you must click Send for review from the Publishing overview page to submit your changes for review.
Distribute your app to testersSelect your Firebase project when prompted. On the Releases page, select the app you want to distribute from the drop-down menu. Drag your app's APK file to the console to upload it. When the upload completes, specify the tester groups and individual testers you want to receive the build.
Make your app free or paidOpen Play Console and go to the App pricing page (Products > App pricing). In the "Pricing" section, next to "Your app is," click Make your app free or Make your app paid.
Standard publishing: Updates to existing apps are processed and published as soon as possible. By default, your app will use standard publishing. Certain apps may be subject to extended reviews, which may result in review times of up to 7 days or longer in exceptional cases.
The Android Market doesn't make any provision for this currently.
There was a very similar question recently asking about how best to implement checks that would enable the distribution of review copies:
How can you make a review copy of an Android app?
