I have enabled the dark mode in Firefox version 76.0 as well as installed the dark reader extension. The extension allows web pages to go dark. These changes do not affect any PDFs that have been opened in Firefox.
You can do that by clicking “Themes” on the left side of the screen. You will see the “Dark” theme. Click on the “Enable” button to immediately activate the dark mode for the browser. Note: If you have Firefox Sync turned on, dark mode will be activated on all your Firefox installs.
Firefox follows the color scheme of your operating system by default, but you can also take direct control. Open the browser's hamburger menu and select Settings > Extensions & Themes. Click Themes to open the Manage Your Themes page, then select the theme you wish to use, such as Dark.
Recording this for anyone who has this problem
Create a bookmarklet - a bookmark with the following in the location/address field
javascript:(function(){viewer.style = 'filter: grayscale(1) invert(1) sepia(1) contrast(75%)';})()
Hope this helps.
