Is the Google Drive's Root Folder Id permanent?
Will the Root Folder Id remain the same as long as the account exists?
Getting this folder ID is easy, navigate to https://drive.google.com and make a folder. After you did this, open up the folder and check the URL: Grab this ID and enter it inside the 'Folder ID's' inside the modal to specify that the backup has to be put in that folder.
Each user has a "root" folder called "My Drive" that functions as their primary hierarchy, and consists of everything that descends from this root folder. The user is the primary owner of this folder. Shared drives. A shared drive is an organizational structure within Google Drive that lives parallel to My Drive.
The ID of a file can be found by navigating to the Google Drive web. Right click on the file you need, and select get sharable link . The File ID is the last part of that link, after id= .
The Shared Drive ID is simply the end of the URL when viewing the folder via Drive.Google.com … it's the jumbled part at the end.
As stated in the Work with Folders section of the api doc :
You can use the alias root to refer to the root folder anywhere a file ID is provided
That way you'll have the correct id for any user.
