I am trying to create a GCE f1-micro in GCP. It should be free according to: GCP Free Tier
and following the tutorial: How to set up a free micro VPS on Google Cloud Platform
However it does not seem to be free. The pricing calculator set beside is showing the message:

The f1-micro VPS is part of Google's “always free” products. If the 12 month test period has ended or if you used up all the credit of your voucher, you will not be able to use these free products anymore. In this case, you will have to upgrade your account, enabling Google to charge your credit card.
Micro instances (AMD processor): All tenancies get up to two Always Free VM instances using the VM. Standard. E2.
Free Tier. The Free Tier provides limited access to many common Google Cloud products and services free of charge. Unlike the Free Trial, the Free Tier is available to all Google Cloud users. Free Tier resources are provided at intervals, usually monthly.
When you begin the free trial, Google creates a billing account for you and credits $300 to your account. Anything you do that would normally result in a charge is billed against this credit. You will receive billing statements indicating how much of your free credit has been spent.
Each month, eligible use of all of your f1-micro instances is free until you have used a number of hours equal to the total hours in the current month. thanks. I missed to read the message on the side "Your first 720 hours of f1-micro instance usage are free this month." so if u just have 1 instance than is it free the entire month, every month?
It's not clear whether you can use one month of both in August, though that'd be the simplest way to bill it. For the month of August, both the F1-micro and E2-micro can be leveraged for free up to the allowable 744 hours on each instance.
For small instance types like f1-micro your costs are not the compute instance, it is the bandwidth, storage, snapshots, images, etc. An f1-micro is good for learning, but do not expect too much. Your iPhone has more power. UPDATE（Aug, 2021）: From Augest 1st, 2021, the Free Tier F1-micro VM is changing to the E2-micro VM as the VM to use for free.
However, under the GCP Free Tier, in-use external IP addresses are available without additional cost until you have used a number of hours equal to the total hours in the current month. GCP Free Tier for in-use external IP addresses applies to all instance types, not just f1-micro instances.
It's f1-micro is always free up to 720 hours (1 month) in the supported regions. GCP still shows you the cost per hour, because GCP doesn't yet know how many hours you're going to use. If you use more than 720 hours, it will begin charging you at that rate.
Your Always Free f1-micro instance limit is by time, not by instance. Each month, eligible use of all of your f1-micro instances is free until you have used a number of hours equal to the total hours in the current month.
