error while installing anaconda: chosen path already exists

Question

while installing anaconda using graphic installer on macOS, i'm getting an error after the destination select step saying the chosen path already exists even though i've never installed anaconda before. After trying again and changing the destination location also, there is an error saying there's space in the path. please help me out, I'm not able to install anaconda on my laptop.

i had the same problem, after several attempt i had to work my way around you can follow the same steps too : first remove the existing Anaconda installation at /opt/anaconda3, you can follow these steps:

Step 1: Open Terminal

Step 2: Remove the Anaconda Directory Run the following command to remove the Anaconda installation located at /opt/anaconda3: run this code on in ternimal

sudo rm -rf /opt/anaconda3

You’ll be prompted to enter your Mac's administrator password. Type your password and press Enter.

Step 3: Confirm Removal To confirm that the directory has been removed, you can run:

code :

ls /opt/

If the directory is successfully removed, you should not see anaconda3 listed.

Step 4: Retry the Installation Now that the previous installation is removed, you can proceed to reinstall Anaconda in the default location or choose a different location if desired.
