Error:
Could not open the editor: The editor class could not be instantiated. This usually indicates a missing no-arg constructor or that the editor's class name was mistyped in plugin.xml.

EDIT 2:
I changed the workspace and it fixed the problem (for the new workspace at least) but still - no idea why it happened. (though I am still curious, so I leave this question open).
If you've "installed" Eclipse but are having trouble getting it to run, the most likely cause is that you have not correctly specified the JVM for it to run under. You may need to edit the eclipse. ini file. Another common mistake on Microsoft Windows is a mismatch between the "bittedness" of Eclipse and the JVM/JDK.
Just select Window→ Preferences→ Workbench→ File Associations, select the file type, and associate an editor or program with it (if nothing else, you can use Eclipse's default text editor). You also can run programs outside Eclipse as external tools, invoked by selecting Run→ External Tools.
You have open eclipse. ini file and change -vm path to correct JDK location. In my case it's /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.
This is often a problem with temporary files saved by eclipse plugins. Check YOUR_WORKSPACE/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.jdt.core/
. There are a lot of index files. Sometimes it helps to delete them. Also, start your eclipse with -clean
.
But I think your problem is slightly different. Did you have a reference to a library(jar-file) somewhere in your filesystem? If you deleted it or moved it, eclipse can't build your projects.
Did you refresh all your projects?
