I'd like to run Umbraco on Mono. Is this possible?

Umbraco is an open source .NET CMS - or content management system - which is built on Microsoft’s .NET (dot NET) framework using ASP.NET and is written in C#. Umbraco offers developers high flexibility, security, and scalability.
With its flexibility and scalability, Umbraco CMS is suitable for both freelancers and small agencies, and major corporations. With minimal training, you can create anything from simple blog posts to responsive campaign websites.
Umbraco Heartcore, the headless CMS solution released in 2019, is running on Umbraco Cloud. In 2020, Umbraco launched Umbraco Uno which makes it faster to get Umbraco sites up and running and create websites without a single line of code.
Currently Umbraco does not run properly on Mono but there are known efforts to achieve that goal. This will give a good starting point.

A community effort has been made to port Umbraco (v4.x) to work on Mono.

At the time of writing, there is a beta of v4.7.2, with work already started on bringing in the v4.11.x changes.
