From their public product description of Stash I can't tell whether they provide such an functionality.
Can anyone tell me if Stash has pastebin / gist like functionality?
They are complementary to each other. Git is the VCS, and stash is repository management tool. It makes Git more secure and manageable for corporate IT departments.
What is Gist? Gist is an easy method to share snippets or excerpts of data with others. A gist can be a string of code, a bash script or some other small piece of data. These bits of information are hosted by GitHub as a repository.
Bitbucket Server (formerly known as Stash) is a combination Git server and web interface product written in Java and built with Apache Maven. It allows users to do basic Git operations (such as reviewing or merging code, similar to GitHub) while controlling read and write access to the code.
Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are uncommon cancers that start in special cells in the wall of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, also known as the digestive tract.
No, Atlassian Stash does not currently offer pastebin/gist-like functionality. A New Feature request has been opened to add it: STASH-2628 Code snippet sharing requesting it.
As someone mentioned below, there is now a paid plugin (not from Atlassian) that provides pastebin/gist like functionality to Stash.
