I must have accidentally activated some keyboard shortcut function because every time I press certain keys such as w, a, s, d they act as shortcuts to things. For example if I press f, the search function appears. How can I stop this so I can type these letters again?
Thanks
Select “System Preferences.” Select “Keyboard” from the list on the left side of your screen. Click on “Shortcuts” in the list of settings across the top of the window. Once inside “Shortcuts,” uncheck the box next to each shortcut to disable it.
I go into System Settings, select Keyboard > Shortcuts and under Launchers, next to Launch Terminal I click on the word Disabled which then changes to New shortcut .
You can disable the help browser by opening "System Settings" -> "Keyboard" and switching to the "Shortcuts" tab, then under "Launchers" turning "Launch Help Browser" to "Disabled".
In System Settings > Keyboard > Shortcuts
Find the shortcut you're trying to disable, click on it to set a new shortcut, then pressing Backspace will disable that shortcut.
