My team is developing a web application which has a full screen option in some sections. On Chrome, FireFox and Edge, the full screen option works fine. However, on safari ios, when entering full screen mode, if users touch and pull down the screen, it will exit full screen mode. Is there anyway to disable this action?
When you want to leave full-screen mode, move your cursor to the top of your display to show your app's toolbar or title bar and click the green button. Another way you can exit full screen mode is to press Command-Control-F, or choose View > Exit Full Screen.
To exit fullscreen mode in Safari, you can press the Escape key, you can also do Control-Command-F, or you could quit Safari by doing Command-Q and re-opening it.
Exit Full-Screen Mode on Windows Using the F11 key on your computer's keyboard will let you both enter and exit full-screen mode in many applications. If you use a laptop, you might need to press Fn + F11 to activate this keyboard shortcut.
Tip. You may as well learn the keyboard shortcut for the Enter Full Screen mode: Control-⌘-F. The same keystroke leaves Full Screen mode, but you can also tap the Esc key for that purpose.
The only way I know to solve this is to have your users add the site to the home screen.
I think you can also detect if it's been opened via the home screen.
