Does Visual Studio or MSDN provides a default set of icons for desktop applications, i.e. icons for common actions, GUI elements, data types, etc?
For instance, I have a button that the user clicks on to select a file, it would be nice if I could use Windows' standard folder icon.
%systemroot%\system32\imageres.dll dll file contains many Windows 10 and Windows 11 icons, used almost everywhere in the operating system. It has icons for different types of folders, hardware devices, peripherals, actions, and so on.

Icons appear everywhere throughout Windows, and are really just pictures that depict the type of items they represent. The Windows desktop contains a range of desktop icons.

Right-click or press-and-hold on an empty area of your desktop, and then, in the contextual menu, access View. Click or tap on the “Show desktop icons” option to check it. All the desktop icons or shortcuts should become visible on your screen.
For Visual Studio 2012 and 2013:
The icons are not in the program folder any more.
