I have a web app that allows the user to add the web page to his home screen on the iphone.
That functionality exists with Safari.
Now they released the chrome browser for the iphone too. My question is how can I instruct the user to add the web page to his ios home screen. The chrome browser doesnt seem to have that functionality..? Can I add a shortcut from chrome options so that it would appear on the iphone home page?
For example, if you want to add a shortcut to open OSXDaily in Chrome, you'll need to type “googlechromes://www.osxdaily.com”. Once you're done, tap on the triple-dot icon to continue. Give a name for your shortcut and tap on “Add to Home Screen”.
Add a Website to iPhone or iPad Home ScreenOpen Safari and head to a website you want to pin to the Home Screen to get started. Then tap the Share icon at the bottom. Then tap Add to Home Screen from the menu. Next, type in a name for your shortcut and then tap the Add button.
To add shortcut links to the sites on the Home screen with Chrome Android, firstly launch the site whose link you wish to add to the Home screen. Now, tap on the three dots>Add to home screen>Add. This will automatically add the shortcut link to the home screen of your Android phone.
