VB6 is probably still widely used, but companies migrate to VB.NET. Moreover VB6 is so easy to learn that you can start using it really fast with no previous experience.
Python, JavaScript, MATLAB, Visual Studio, and Java are the most popular alternatives and competitors to Visual Basic.
Visual Basic (VB) Visual Basic (VB) is an event-driven programming language and environment from Microsoft that provides a graphical user interface (GUI) which allows programmers to modify code by simply dragging and dropping objects and defining their behavior and appearance.
For nearly all programming purposes, VBA and VB 6.0 are the same thing. VBA cannot compile your program into an executable binary. You'll always need the host (a Word file and MS Word, for example) to contain and execute your project. You'll also not be able to create COM DLLs with VBA.
Has anyone here used either of the following (or any other tool) to convert your vb6 code to a .net language?

vbmigration partner (converts to vb.net)
How effective were they and what size project did you convert?
How much work was left to do afterwards? How happy are you with the resultant .net project. What was the support like? Is there a support forum anywhere for users of tools like these, neither vendor seems to offer one.
What did they charge, their prices are not published and I have heard wildly differing prices from different sources for both the above examples
