How does Facebook Sharer select Images?
As the owner of the page being liked, is there anyway to control the url that shows up on the wall of people who like my page?
See the above image? Like a blog post on this page: www.sunlitehardware.com.au and you will note that the "thrifty link" logo, found in the bottom right hand corner of the website, is displayed (as shown in the picture above). I want to change that to a sunlite hardware logo.
To do this, go to Settings in your site's dashboard, click Site Name and Meta Tags, and scroll down to the Social Thumbnail section. The social thumbnail image is the image that displays when you share your site's link on social media. You can add or change this image for each page of your site.
If you include an image at least 600 X 315 pixels, Facebook will display that image above your link rather than displaying a smaller image as a thumbnail to the left of the link. For images displayed above links, Facebook favors images that are about twice as wide as they are high (a 1.91:1 aspect ratio to be exact).
Click the "X" icon to the right of the "Link" heading in the upper right corner of the link window to hide the link.
You can use the meta tag to tell which image to show on your post to your wall:
<meta property="og:image" content="(your image link)"/>
